Ellie McKenzie

Ellie grew up in the Dallas area and attended the Episcopal School of Dallas and graduated from University of TX, Dallas with a BA in literary studies and a teaching certificate. She taught high school English and Drama and then taught the Gifted and Talented Program in Nevada and has worked with children for the past 15 years. Ellie holds a Level 1 CrossFit Certification as well as a CrossFit Kids Certification and has been teaching CrossFit for a year and a half. She came in 118th in the 2013 CrossFit Open Games for the Women's Masters Division (age 40-44) South Central Region and has completed 2 NorCal Tough Mudders. Ellie found a new passion and inner strength with CrossFit and martial arts and wants to help other people - especially kids - find that passion and strength within themselves.

John Mariotti

John holds a 6th dan black belt in Universal TaeKwonDo and was a personal student of Grandmaster Lou Grasso for almost 20 years. He has been teaching martial arts to children and adults for over 20 years. John is a purple belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu with the Charles Gracie Team. He tied for 31st place in the 2013 CrossFit Games Masters division (55-59). He is CrossFit Level 1 Certified (2010), CrossFit Kids Certified (2012), CrossFit Movement and Mobility Certified (2011), and has taken numerous other movement seminars including Olympic lifting, Gymnastics, and Explosive movement. He is F.A.S.T. (Fear Adrenaline Stress Training) self defense certified. John also won the 2008 masters division Grapplers quest belt. He is a 1978 graduate of Gonzaga University and has a B.A. in liberal arts.

Carl Bright

Carl is a 500 hour registered yoga instructor. He studied at Sunstone Yoga Academy in Dallas, TX in 2011, Before practicing yoga, he indulged in many undertakings. He was an athlete and was injured many times in football and mixed martial arts. After injuring his back doctors told him he would never be the same. He tried several medications and therapies to deal with the pain to no avail. After hearing about the healing benefits of yoga on the body and the mind he tried yoga and was hooked. With consistent practice his back pain dissipated and he developed increased range of motion and flexibility. carl hopes to help others find the healing properties of yoga.
