He has been teaching martial arts to children and adults for over 20 years. John is a purple belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu with the Charles Gracie Team. He is F.A.S.T. (Fear Adrenaline Stress Training) self defense certified. John also won the 2008 masters division Grapplers quest belt. He also participated in the Ultimate Black Belt test (2007). The Ultimate Black Belt test is the brain child of Tom Callos and is a ground breaking method of testing the complete martial artist…mind body and soul.
Odyssey Martial Arts is modeled after the Ultimate Black Belt test. Acts of kindness are required for every belt level as are community service projects as well as physical and intellectual requirements (we still have to know how kick and punch…and when not to). We teach Odyssey Martial arts (TaeKwon-Do, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, HapKi-do) to children and adults. We have a “Tigers” class for ages 3 ½ to 5 ½ . We also offer Kickboxing and TaiChi-K’ung classes as well.
